Defensive Pistol Fundamentals is designed to teach you how to respond effectively with your firearm in a real-world defensive situation. This course focuses on intuitive shooting techniques that work well under stress, including proper grip, stance, kinesthetic alignment, and trigger control. You’ll learn the difference between marksmanship and defensive shooting, and how to apply efficient, threat-focused techniques that can help save lives.
Whether you’re new to handguns or already have experience, this course provides a strong foundation in defensive shooting. With live-fire drills and guided practice, you’ll develop muscle memory, learn how to quickly align your sights, and engage targets with speed and precision. This is a hands-on, performance-based class focused on building confidence and competence with your firearm when it matters most.

How Time Will Be Spent
4 hours total time.
2 hours classroom time.
2 hour range time.
The first 2 hours will be spent in the classroom understanding the Fundamentals of Defensive shooting allowing to questions so that you have a solid understanding of the class material.
After the classroom portion, we’ll travel to a local gun range for a 2-hour live-fire session, where you’ll apply your new skills with real-time guidance and support. By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a clear understanding of how to safely handle a handgun and the practical experience needed to continue your training with confidence.
What to Bring to Class
- Open mind with a willingness to learn.

What to Bring to Range
- Handgun. (Range has rentals, if needed.)
- 50 rounds of ammunition.
- Range time fee.
- Hearing and eye protection. (Range has rentals, if needed.)
What Will Be Provided
Paper target.
Class Policies
- Students must wear close-toed shoes, i.e., no flip-flops, sandals, or any other shoe type allowing toes to be exposed.
- No photos or videos of any portion of class.
- Be on-time to class so as not to interrupt other students.
- No children allowed in class.
- No food or beverage.
- If you are sick or think you are getting sick, stay home. We are happy to get you re-scheduled. If you come to class sick, you will be asked to leave without any refund.
- No firearms, loaded or unloaded, or ammunition shall be presented or handled by students during any classroom portion of training.
- Waiver and Agreement will need to be signed before start of class.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation 48 hours or more ahead of class time will result in a one-time re-schedule. No refunds are offered. Cancellations made within 48 hours of class time will forfeit the entirety of the class cost paid, i.e. no refund.
