Request Women’s Defensive Handgun
Women’s Defensive Pistol is the culmination of the women’s pistol training that brings together mindset, skills, and confidence necessary to respond effectively in a defensive encounter. This course builds upon foundational handgun skills and introduces defensive concepts such as avoid, escape, defend; use of force considerations; cover versus concealment; voice commands and defensive shooting techniques.
This course moves beyond mechanical firearm knowledge and focuses on decision-making under pressure and practical defensive application. Students will learn how to assess developing threats, establish personal boundaries, move off the line of attack, and respond with purpose and control. Through structured live-fire drills and guided discussion, participants will practice defensive reloads, verbal commands under stress, and scenario-based exercises that reinforce both mindset and skill. By the end of this class, you will leave with greater confidence, stronger defensive awareness, and a clearer understanding of when defensive force may be legally justified.

Cost for Class
$125.00 per student.
Prerequisites
- Women’s Handgun Fundamentals (or equivalent)
- Women’s Intermediate Handgun (or equivalent)
- A basic understanding of pistol handling and
marksmanship. - Students should be comfortable safely loading, unloading, and shooting their handgun.
Location
TBD. Class and range are in the Lawrenceville or Dacula, GA areas.
In Gwinnett County, close to Buford, Dacula, Duluth, Grayson, Lawrenceville, or Suwanee, Georgia.
How Time Will Be Spent
4 hours total time.
2 hours classroom instruction.
2 hours live-fire range training.
The first portion of the class will focus on developing a defensive mindset and understanding the legal and tactical principles behind defensive shooting. Students will review use of force guidelines, cover versus concealment, voice commands, and drawing fundamentals.
The second portion will take place at a local indoor range, where students will participate in instructor-led live-fire drills. These drills include drawing from holster and concealment, movement off the line of attack, defensive reloads, and practical application exercises. By the end of the course, students will have applied defensive principles in a structured and supervised training environment.
What to Bring to Class
- Open mind with a willingness to learn.
- Notepad and pen or pencil.
What to Bring to Range
- Functional handgun. (Range has rentals, if needed.)
- 50 rounds of ammunition.
- Range time fee, typically ~$15.00 – 20.00.
- Hearing and eye protection. (Range has rentals, if needed.)
What Will Be Provided
- Paper target.
Class Policies
- Must wear close-toed shoes, i.e., no flip-flops, sandals, or any other shoe type allowing toes to be exposed.
- No photos or videos of any portion of class.
- Be on-time to class so as not to interrupt other students.
- No children allowed in class.
- No food or beverage.
- If you are sick or think you are getting sick, stay home. We are happy to get you re-scheduled. If you come to class sick, you will be asked to leave without any refund.
- No firearms or ammunition may be handled during classroom instruction.
- Waiver and Agreement will need to be signed before start of class.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation 48 hours or more ahead of class time will result in a one-time re-schedule or a refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of class time will forfeit the entirety of the class cost paid, i.e. no refund.
